Privacy Policy

We as Safeguard B.V. and Safeguard Nederland B.V. believe that privacy is a very valuable concept. We care about your privacy as much as we do our own, and see it as a great responsibility to treat your data with respect. Read below how we use your information to optimize the experience of our services, but also how we ensure that your information is safe with us.
- We collect information for the following purposes:

  1.     Providing information about products and services
  2.     Providing and personalizing our services
  3.     Processing orders and invoices from our customers
  4.     The processing of our customer administration

-  We use location data to carry out the service. This data is used to determine whether an emergency responder is present at a predetermined location and is thus available or not (or has been) in case of emergency.
- We do not use your data for purposes other than providing and improving our services and never sell your information to third parties.
- We do not disclose any personal information about you unless expressly authorized to do so, except where such information has another clear legal basis.
- We comply with Dutch legislation with regard to privacy. In case we are required by law, we provide user data to third parties.
- The information under our control is password protected so that only you can access your personal information and account information. Your username and password are strictly personal and must be kept secret. You are solely responsible for misuse of the username and/or password and must report loss, theft and/or misuse to us immediately.
- We take a number of measures to keep our, but also your data, as safe as possible, but cannot guarantee the security thereof. We take in any case (but not exclusively) the following measures:

  1. Internal compliance officer
  2. Monitoring of the compliance officer
  3. Two-factor authentication for all components
  4. Time-restricted access to sensitive components
  5. Employees have access to data according to the need-to-know principle
  6. 4 eyes principle for critical business areas
  7. Detailed logging & monitoring (internal & external)
  8. Outsourcing policy with non-disclosure agreement
  9. Data Retention Policy
  10. TLS (SSL) connection of the website
  11. ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification

Use of personal data
Safeguard B.V.  and Safeguard Nederland B.V. processes personal data. This is done in a careful, partly automated and partly manual manner.

Safeguard app
The personal data referred to above concern the first and last name and e-mail addresses of users and customers of the Safeguard app, as well as their location in the set area of the Safeguard app. We carry out this processing because it is necessary for the performance of the contract and for the proper operation and development of the Safeguard app or because we have a legitimate interest.
We obtain this information from the customer or user of the Safeguard app. We store most personal data for a period of three months after termination of the contract. A complete overview of our retention period and legal grounds can be found here (Appendix 1 of the Data processing agreement).

Contact
When you contact us, we process your personal data in order to respond to your request for contact. We keep this information for a maximum of 2 years after we last had contact with you.

Other processors
To provide the Safeguard app, we use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to store our data. We have made agreements to ensure that data is processed carefully by means of adequate security measures. We remain responsible for the processing of your data and we will ensure that any amendments, withdrawals or objections will also be made known to AWS.
Of course we will not pass on your data to others, unless there is a legal basis for this. We process your personal data in accordance with the GDPR guidelines.

Cookies
Cookies are used on our website. Cookies are also placed via third parties engaged by us. You can disable cookies in your browser. Please note that our website may no longer work optimally.
We use functional cookies, analytical cookies and cookies for marketing and advertising.

Functional cookies are used for settings and preferences. Analytical cookies include Google and LinkedIn. These are used to measure the effectiveness of advertisements and elements on the website. Facebook, Bombora, LinkedIn and Linked share Buttons use cookies for marketing and advertising.

We have made agreements with these third parties that place cookies about the use of cookies and applications. However, we do not have full control over what the providers of these applications themselves do with the cookies when they read them. For more information about these applications and how they handle cookies, please see the privacy statements of these parties (note: these can change regularly).

Your rights
If you wish to inspect your personal data, you can. You are entitled to this under the GDPR. You can address this request to Safeguard B.V. or Safeguard Nederland B.V. email: fg@safeguardapp.nl. You also have the right to rectification or deletion of your personal data. However, these rights are not absolute. Safeguard B.V. or Safeguard Nederland B.V. may have a compelling interest in keeping your personal data (unchanged), even if you have indicated that you wish this data to be removed or modified. You can, however, indicate that you want us to limit the processing of personal data, pending our assessment when you object to a certain processing. You can also send your questions and requests in this regard to Safeguard B.V. or Safeguard Nederland B.V.  e-mail: fg@safeguardapp.nl. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to identify yourself. We will respond to your request within one month.
